I was looking in my Tandy's leather catalog and saw this tool that I realized I have but didn't know what it was for. It's a leather burning tool. It was amongst my dad's leather tools I aquired after he died. So I tried it today. Here's a couple practice "drawings". This thing is just like drawing with ink only it shadows better but you have to work slower. Here's my two first atempts at using it. Keep in mind these images are burnt leather.
How 'bout this. I would like one or two of you to PM a picture of yourself. But for this first try with a real portrait I would like a male (guys are easier) with lots of character in your face. I need a well traveled gent with lots of character. We've been talking a lot about True Grit here lately. I might just do one of Jeff Bridges but since I'm thinking about decorating holsters this way, why not try someone here. If I can pull this off I'll send you the end result after taking a pic. of it and I'll post your picture next to my drawing here. If you have the character I need PM it to me. I'll stop taking volunteers as soon as I get a couple good ones. When I get two I think I'm able to draw, I'll kill this thread. Keep in mind I can't draw everybody so I'll pick the right guys if I get responses here. Since I'm more into cartooning it might not be dead on but a characterzation. The picture must be face frontal but not posed. Just an honest pic. of you CLOSE UP but with full outline. Here's my first shot at using this tool. These are just free hand doodles. The Kharma part is you'll get the drawing, but only if you let me post it here for all to see, after you see it first via PM or e-mail. Thanks
ALL DONE> I GOT TWO PEOPLE ALREADY. THANK'S ANYWAY.
