Default Restoring a Classic Fast Draw Holster

Actually I just cleaned it up. This is the Arvo Ojala Holster I got on G.B. for $16. I cleaned the surface with a little dish soap and luke warm water on a soft rag and let dry. I then replaced the hammer thong, tie down and made a new strap utilizing the original little buckle. I had to ding up the strap with sandpaper to make it match the holster. The color is different and if it bugs me i'll try it again. I've already made a belt pattern from an Ojala rig I already have and will try to bang it up to match the holster. Then I'll have a rig like Matt Dillon and Little Joe Cartwright. Making the tone of the belt match the holster might be a little tricky. I'll post the end results later.

Before...

After. Still dinged up but a little better looking...

Very nice, WB. Simple, practical. I don't think the color of the new strap is too far off--though it looks as if it could use just a little more sheen, or gloss.

Funny you should mention that. Before reading your post I was out in the garage applying sheen to the strap. Then I dinged it up a little more. There wasn't any sheen on the strap at all before. It does look better.
