Default Holster Info

The other holster thread got me thinking about a few holsters I have picked up over the years that I know nothing about. I thought maybe you guys and gals might be able to give me a little info on them.

First up, Belt reads:Safety Speed holster, Montebello CA and the # 40. Holster part has a badge like emblem that I think says Safariland, with S&W under the emblem, has the letters MD/FR and the # 29, Montrovia Calif, patented

Single bullet pouch reads Safariland, Double pouch reads:
Holster assembly, GUU-1/P J.M.Bucheimer Co 1968 and a couple of # that look like serial #'s

This one looks hand made, no lettering at all

The last 2: The one on the left says handmade by Viking, Mexico and the #89. The one on the right says Defender on the strap, has a powder horn looking design on back that says hunter and the # 1100 11

Thanks for any info!

The top one was also sold by Safariland as their Model 29. I have one, green elk suede lined, basketweave. Mine carries a Model 66 S&W, four-inch bbl. Looks like yours, but I can't tell if yours is lined. The badge emblem was Safariland' s logo.

El Paso Saddlery makes a fine item very like the Safariland M-29. With a conventional strap over the hammer, it was the Model 25. Safariland no longer makes their original styles. Pity. I have one of the El Paso versions, for a S&W M-60-4. The workmanship is probably even better than on the Safariland.

The Viking looks very like holsters sold by Browning. Wouldn't be surprised if they came from the same source, but that's a guess.
