Default Old Holster repair

I have an old Lawrence holster that I would like to fix up, it needs to be repaired as the stitching has come loose. I don't have anyone around here that does any leather work so I am wondering if anyone knows anyplace I can send it to in order to get it back together again. The leather is fine and not cracked and since it is a Lawrence I don't want it just going to waste.

Default Old holster repair

Check with Wyatt Burp, a frequent contributor here. He does
1st class work but is sometimes booked up.

You could do it yourself. You can order thread and a needle from Tandy. Don't need the awl, etc. Just the right size needle and waxed thread. Can usually find the proper stuff locally but Tandy would save you the effort of chasing around.

If not, a good shoe repair shop could do it.

Check out CAS City leatherworking forum for tips.

Does anyone know of somebody who does holster restoration? I have a holster for a Modell 1879 Reichsrevolver: the leather is torn in one place, and the bottom, where the muzzle rests, has a hole worn in it. I don't know if these defects are repairable or not. The leather is good otherwise, but the holster probably dates from the 1880s.
