Default Vintage Leather Gear for wheelguns

I have a abborition towards plastic and nylon.

Maybe because now I realize that I'm old. Or that while growing up and through the years that nothing has the warmth and feel of real tanned cowhide.

So today at one of LGS, my wife, bless her heart dives into the three bargain boxes of old leather. Knowing my passion for this stuff, she can find anything. I think she wills it.

An original USAF issued Sam Browne, with cuff case, S&W nightstick holder and assorted keepers. I couldn't get the 30 bucks out of my wallet fast enough.

Enjoy the pics, and especially for my AF brother AP's/SP's/SF
if you have any NIB unissued stuff I may be interested in let me know please.

Man, that brings back memories. I credit my USAF issued Model 15 for turning me from primarily a Colt guy into primarily a Smith guy.

I wore that exact rig. Now you just need to find a supply of that mighty PGU ball they issued us - you might have to kill a hamster!

Very cool. Brings back memories here too. Of course our duty holsters and dump pouches were a little more worn looking than the ones in pic 3. I'd love to find a set like that to go with my Model 15.

I run across them at gun shows occasionally and grab whatever I can.

The web belt holster and ammo pouch set I paid 20 bucks for and the guy was glad to be rid of it. He had no idea what he had.

I also have Bucheimer-Clark and Safety Speed civilian police gear, some of which was my duty gear over the years.

In the 80's our department was switching out to retention type safety holsters. But they didn't make it mandatory, thank God. They were ugly as sin and hard to draw from.

The 99T thumb break Safariland is my most used rig.

LMAO...so true. But that didn't prevent a whole lot of us from switching out ammo once out of sight of the flight chief or duty officer.

Never got caught thankfully.

Although my CO happened by a traffic stop one night and my briefcase was open on the passenger side of my patrol unit.

There in plain sight was a full box of Remingtion 158 gr semi jacketed wadcutters....ooops. He never said a word to me.

Whew!

Always had two HKS speedloaders full of 125 gr. +P Remingtons in my SP jacket pockets.
