Default kydex holster repair

I have a kydex IWB holster that is breaking where the belt loop folds over from the holster. Anyone know how to repair such a problem or know who can repair it?

Thanks for your help everyone!

Randy

PS. There is no name on the holster so I can't even contact the manufacturer.

You can try Jeff at pitbulltactical.com. He makes his own holsters and may be able to repair yours.

Buy a new one. How much can it be? Trust your gun and life to glue?

I have a lot of Fobus holsters and they are lifetime warranty. But heck they are not expensive like a big money leather holster.

Kydex recommends Super Glue for Kydex to Kydex adhesive.

But I would replace, and not repair. Remember that Kydex was not designed for holsters; it was designed for air craft interiors. So it is not surprising that this sort of stress will damage the material.

I would donate it to Boeing and buy a new one.

Kydex was originally designed for the seat backs and interior panels and snack trays on aircraft. They discovered that holster people were using the material and so they expanded their marketing to include them. But I don't believe they ever made a holster-specific sheet. Holsters come under the "incidental use" catagory.

Glue is Glue.

Not like Acrylic or PVC/CVPC cement which actually fuses or welds the material together and ends up as strong or stronger than the original.

Spend the big money and buy a new one.
