Default Vintage Leather experts I need help !!

Hello my friends,
Trying to determine a fair price for this Leather
George Lawerence, Portland Oregon case.
I bought it with my pre-27 and i'd like it to go
to a good home of a member who really appreciates
leather products. I've done some checking and have
only been able to determine that, "by the makers mark"
it was made between 1940 and 1980.
So Help !!!! From all you cowhide stretchers out there
for an approximate dating and fair price range for selling.
Come on Dave, Iggy, and some of you western state
guys with your vast knowledge.
A Thanks goes out to member Chuck Odom for his
pictures from an earlier post.

BTW that's a 3 1/2" pre-model 27 inside case to give you
dimensional scale.

Chuck Hutson

Not sure of the value, but I image you'll get some interest here in the classifieds. Heck, I'm curious of your asking price already!

I seen a brand new similar one for sale in a store last year for about $50s. Didnt reconise the maker but wish I had bought it.

It doesn't show in a 1955 Shooters Bible but the 1970 Edition shows a Lawrence Imperial Gun Case. It probably dates from the 1960's or so. Description was: For all handguns. Made of glazed unoiled Salz California Saddle leather. Deep plush lined with zipper closure. Yours is a Model 90F (for floral) made for a 6" barreled gun, or it's 6" wide don't know which. Cost was $30.50 which wasn't cheap at that time. For example, the No. 120 Keith Style, floral carved was $16.75 in the same catalog.

Chuck,

I don't know what a collector might do...

But, I probably wouldn't make one, hand tooled on both sides & zippered like that for less that a C-note and a half,
mabee not even then. But that's jest me talking here.

Su Amigo,
Dave

Just thinkin' for myself here. I'd definitely buy one for 50, probably buy one for 75, but would need to think long and hard at 100. If I had a special little revolver, like a nicely engraved 27 or a reg mag that fit, and was looking for a fancy display I might go a little more. Guess it's all about the perceived need!

I'd give a $100 for it in the blink of an eye and then would not sale it for $200 but I love and appreciate the time and talent it takes to make something like that. I also love to look at and feel a good piece of hand tooled leather.
I'm weird like that.
