Found a decent old Brill holster in.......
an antique mall a few days ago. Some previous owner must not have liked the way the leather fit on the top of his grips so he lopped a sliver of leather off to suit him.
See a lot of old rigs (and guns) modified to suit their owners.

The Brill is my all time favorite old type holster. That looks really nice. I expected the modification to be ugly but it isn't. Brill sixgun holsters have popped up in westerns. Walter Brennan looks like he wears one in The Westerner. And "Shorty" in the Lee Marvin Monte Walsh might wear one tied down. I've never seen one in person but copied them from pictures. Great find there. I love those jigged bone stocks, too.

That's a great find. I've got one that belonged to my old boss. It's got a piece added to get the mag release away from the holster body.

Found a decent old Brill holster...
Great find & the lopped off slice is almost invisible with a gun in it.
Who made the sap? I can see a stamp but can't make it out.
I still prowl around in such places although finding anything of this caliber
is rare.Congratulations.
Regards,
turnerriver

I found a nice, but plain, Charles Bluemel holster for a Colt 32 ACP. Now I have to find a pistol to put in it. I thought I'd found a nice engraved one at the San Antonio gun show a couple of months ago, but it was gone when I went back for it.
