Red face Just ordered a Kydex Holster for Springfield 1911

Guys,

I was reading so much about these Kydex things and got very curious... alot of people actually say they are good. Well, today I orderd a holster as well as a double mag pouch for my Springfield. Of course in carbon fiber look, to match the grips, like this one

Photo: DSCF1111 | Kydex Holsters album | Victorsmalls | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.

Here's the link of the guy who does it.

He's advertising on the 1911-forum and we had a great email conversation. He's also offering Military discount.

Will let you know when it arrives, his turn around time is about one week he says after recieving payment.

I'm kida excited...

Nervous about what? Overall Kydex holsters are great. Im using one right now and have been for a while. They are durable, unless you plan to run it over with a car. If youre worried about holster wear dont. 1st there is nothing wrong with honest wear. 2nd, It will happen in any holster.

The holster arrived yesterday. I really like it, looks good and holds weapon as well as magazines tight.

That looks real nice.

I think kydex wears great. I use it almost exclusively iwb for it's moisture resistance capabilities.

Holster do tend to put some wear on guns depending on how many times you load and unload it.

With kydex, I do think it is a good idea to wash out the inside of holster with water occasionally as it seems to be a dust/lint collector and think that kind of debris could cause some (extra?) wear, too.

Enjoy.
