Default A True Shooters' Sling

The 1907 style sling to me is not only iconic and attractive, but dang useful in the right hands. I've had aspirations of offering this sling since I first cut leather. After ending up on the phone with one of the top makers for several hours last spring I had a clear goal in mind and, thanks to his knowledge and willingness to share it, a good idea of what was involved.

The single most important part of the equation is the jig used to punch the holes as it is next to impossible to punch that many consistently. Any of you that have met my friend/helper Scott know how handy he is around the shop and we came up with this. Down to the nice wood stain and everything:

Took us a few times to find the 'right' size hole for the frogs to lock properly onto.

The rest was just leg work really. The keepers on this style sling need to be precise and snug to really 'bite' on the sling. Required a long of hand stitching which I usually try to avoid! Was able to snap some really decent photos of a dark brown one installed on my most appropriate, and only WWII vintage Garand:

And a few of a black one on my new m16A4 clone. Leather on a tacti-cool rifle? Now I gone and done it

So that's it for now. I intend after trying these for a while to add a numbering system between holes for quick referencing as recommended by an experienced MSGO'r. Ain't nothing but a thing now! I tell you one thing for dang sure though....I don't see how the big guys sell em so cheap!

What do you charge for one of these? I need a sling for my lever gun.
