Questions about belt
I think my "regular" belt is not fit for carrying anymore so I need to start looking for actual gun belts for both IWB and OWB holsters. I've found a couple of belts, but wanted to see if anyone just wears their belt without carrying..I work at a hospital so there is no way I can carry, but also want to get used to wearing it. OH and if anyone has any good experiences with their belt, shout it out. I'm finding good reviews on some cheaper ones so I may get a tactical one and a work one..

I wear a Don Hume 1 1/4 black pistol belt as a dress belt.
A 1 1/2 pistol belt holds up my jeans.
I haven't bought the garbage belts from department stores in decades.

I got a belt from www.thebeltman.net , and I got several surprises. Not only did it support my holster properly, but it made a minor back problem go away. Also, my wife liked it, and it doesn't look like a gunbelt. However, as stated before, it did not clear up my psoriasis.
I immediately ordered another for when this one isn't perfectly pretty, because I wear it daily, whether it carries a holster or not (I sometimes pocket carry). I also ordered another one 2" larger, for occasional IWB carry of an autoloader.
I guess this is a recommendation of thebeltman.

Check out: www.wilderness.com and look at their instructor belt for different options in a nylon belt. They are not leather, but work very good when carrying a firearm, or when you are not.

I recently received an Armour belt. Good looking, very heavy duty and fast shipping. Probably last forever.

Check out Bullhide Belts! Their selection is extensive. And reasonably priced. Made from 14-ounce bullhide and about 1/4-inch thick. Buckle selection, pattern selection, and varying widths (I just ordered one in 1.75-inch width). Belts come with a 3-year warranty, and delivery is usually within 8-9 days, but you can get it quicker if you want it. They also have fancy leathers. Check 'em out.

I have two gun belts. The one I wear with jeans is a 1/4" x 1 1/2" solid one piece bull hide belt by Wright Leather Works. I think their price of $49 is a great price compared to most others. I also have one of their holsters. I would not hesitate to wear it without a holster if I needed to.
American Made Bull Hide Leather Belts | Wright Leather Works LLC
For shorts I like the look of The Wilderness Instructors belt in 1 1/2". I chose the one with five rows of stitching it works as well as my leather holster in supporting my gun and holster. I would also wear this without a holster if need be. This belt has gotten a lot of good reviews.

I have a couple of Mitch Rosen dress/gun belts. I wear hem all the time even when not carrying. Tim Thurner also makes a great belt. All of mine are 1.5" in width.

All depends on what you're tryin' to hold up. A 9 ounce strap leather belt does a dandy job of holding up my snubby in my homemade pancake holster and keeping it tucked into my side.
I wear the 9 ounce belt whether or not it has my snubby hangin' on it.
For something bigger I made a double layer leather 1 1/2" belt. It's 1/4" thick and holds up a 4" 66-3 in a homemade matching holster.
I Don't carry the bigger gun much.

I bought a 1.5 inch "gunbelt" a couple years ago when I decided to try a popular hybrid holster. It did the job, but just looked like, well, you know. The color was a little off and the edge was unfinished and a little fuzzy.
Last week I decided to treat myself to a beltman belt and I am impressed. It looks like a fine piece of leather should look. Good color, nice shine and the edge is so well finished that you can't tell that it is a double layer. Every bit as stiff, but slightly thinner and doesn't look like an old chunk of conveyor belt. I ordered the in stock "quick ship" belt and had it in less than a week.
Price was the same, the quality was night and day different.

I wear Matt DelFatti or Milt Sparks belts every day. These are heavy belts, but quite comfortable.

I have a wilderness / instructor nylon belt. A velcro inter / outer competition belt for matches. But I still prefer a good 1.5 inch wide, 12 to 14 oz. leather belt for everyday wear, carry and matches.

Superbio Belt
I have been using this Superbio belt from Bullhide daily for 4 years. Thin, but just as stiff as thick leather. It looks like brown leather but very tough. Still looks like new with no change in shape
Just my 2 cents. YMMV

I wear one of these every day, the 1.5" double layer belt is comforting and comfortable to me with or with a belt. Personally like the way they look and they hold up a ton better that anything store bought.
One thing to note is that I've had a lot of non gun folks buy belts, almost a surprising amount. The one comment I get more than any other is "I thought it would be too much, but I love it." Get yourself a nice one and it'll last a really long time!

Beautiful work as usual.
I've been selling a fair amount of belts out here too. Mostly 9 ounce single layer strap leather.
My double layer belts are hand stitched so I charge a bit for my time.

I wouldn't even double stitch a belt with my Boss. Don't think I have the patience to hand stitch a belt!

I'll second Bullhide Belts Distressed Leather. I posted a pic in a current thread on the ElPaso Leather "tanker holster". 1.5" wide and 1/4" thick. Works for me.

a lot depends on how tight you are comfortable wearing..Some very good pistol belts are so stout it is hard to get them tight and comfortable at the same time...especial true with some very well made belts, made basically for carrying......I am pretty slim so a very tight belt sometimes is uncomfortable pulling even a commander size holster and pistol into my ribs....Sometimes a thick but some what flexible belt will work fine if you can tighten it snug, some can do that with a certain amount of comfort and some can't..I think long waisted men can wear some pistol and tight holsters more easily than short waist guys..(ribs and pistol grip get uncomfortable) I have a few very well made belts with lining and 1 inch belt buckle keeper holes that I can't get tight and comfortable...when I order I get keeper holes 3/4 apart, that give ma little more latitude in comfort...I have been trying for over 50 plus years and I have never found the perfect fit, especially when wearing under a suit coat..Now retired for years I carry a small pistol or revolver and some time I now carry the pocket carry..Admittedly not the best idea. I have been carrying the new Ruger LC9s 9mm striker, small pistol and find it pretty easy to carry in a pocket, not much to hang up in a pocket...Just my opinions of a ongoing problem I'm sure we have all had at one time or another......Good Luck !!!!

I recently purchased from Bullhide Belts. Strong, heavy belt. I work in education, so I don't carry at work, but I've been wearing the belt, everywhere, for about a month. No issues.

Another recommendation for the Beltman. I've been wearing my horsehide belt everyday for a couple of years now with & without a firearm. It carries everything from a S&W 686 down to a 642 Airweight comfortably and with style.

Matching belt and holster I recently made for a forum member.
The belt's double layered 9 ounce and he says that it does a dandy job of holding his pants up, with and without the holster in place.

Belts need to be sturdy but also flexible enough to be tightened to hold holster and pistol, revolver etc. So that you don't get the tall .grip bulge....Snubbfan has said it just about as good as can be said....

contender, I urge you to take a look at what some of our forum members offer.
We have some solid craftsmen here on-board, and the money would stay local, as in, U S A.
Oh, I am not one of the guys I speak of ! My craftsmanship is pretty well taxed out pulling on my cowboy boots of a morn, and fixing a decent cuppa joe ,down at the local sheetz.

I've used a 1" double stitched Rafter S Gunleather belt everyday for years - at the office and in the field, for dress and for carrying a heavy CZ 75B. It's comfortable and indestructible, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I use Jason Winnie, DeSantis and the lesser expensive NRA belts. I like 'em all but prefer JW.
