Some Recent Leather for a 1911
Lately I've had some spare time and have gotten back to making holsters for some local folks. here are two that I made for a local Deputy. Both have a 20 degree rake and are built with smooth inside and out construction. The burgundy one will be his everyday rig and the Elephant one is his court rig. I realize the snap loop rigs are all the rage now but to me nothing beats either a 1911 in 10MM or an N frame in 44 magnum tucked in tight with a good pancake!

I'm also working on one for his J frame in Elephant I'll post the pics of that later.

Very nice work.
I also like the pancakes for CC. When made right they fit nice and tight to the body, hold the gun securely and are comfortable to wear all day.

Yup I have an Elephant on the bench now for me, It's my favorite! I may even do an Elephant for my J frame when it comes back from the gunsmith. I agree on the pancake style completely! I carry mine about 4:00 and it doesn't poke or prod me all day even when it's on for twelve hours.

I really like the embossed star. Can you change the state name?

Nice work, I like the elephant.
I agree, it's hard to beat a pancake holster and a proper belt for concealed carry.

I've also been playing around a bit with a design based on the Gaylord Speed Scabbard and I must admit I think it holds about as tight as a pancake and is showing some promise at least in my eyes

Love that burgundy rig. Looking for one to fit a Commander on a 1.5" belt. I've never been an LEO so I should pass on the star (but it is cool).
Are you taking orders?
