HEADS UP!! BIG EL PASO SADDLERY 20% OFF SALE FOR FATHERS DAY!
Several forum members had asked me to post a notice next time El Paso Saddlery has a sale. So here it is.
El Paso Saddlery is having a 20% off Fathers Day Sale on all gun leather from now until midnight on June 16.
Take my word for it...you can save some bucks on this sale. I saved about $300 on my most recent order from them, and plan on ordering a few things this time around.
(No, I am not affiliated with EPS in any way. Just trying to help forum members save some money, that's all. It's your choice.)
You have to sign up/register with them...it's free, just like your registration on this forum.
Make sure you read the instructions at the bottom of the page about when you complete your online order, you have to key in the promo code to get the 20% off.
was dealing with desantis trying to explain to them that i have (will pick up today !) a pc 1911 s&w & will need a good holster for it. they wouldnt even as so much to encourage me as to trying to help me look at their available options for this gun . as the girl said " in their experience the pc guns were of too much difference than a colt commander , couldnt gurantee a fit " and a bunch of other drivel that only said ...GEE , THIS TOO HARD TO TRY & HELP THIS GUY ...!
i had looked at elpaso b 4 and had liked their offerings , somewhat higher than desantis , but none the less really good looking stuff.
called the texans and talked to " don " . he took my order over the phone & gave me the 20% discount . nice people to do do business with !!
my rig will arrive in 8- 10 weeks . they only do orders when taken and dont stock ahead much .
i feel pretty positive their goods are probably worth waiting on....cant wait to get that beautiful holster with the american flag on it !
I'm not a big DeSantis fan. I think their gear is overpriced, especially when you find it in your local gun shops.
Granted, EPS leather goods are not cheap, and when you start adding options like border stamping or other finishes, you can run up a good sized bill.
If you look at EPS's website, it's sometimes hard to see the quality of their work, even when you enlarge the thumbnail images. You get a better idea when looking at their hard copy catalog. They'll probably send you a catalog with your order. Or you can get one from them now for five bucks.
But it's when you actually see and feel the leatherwork that you really appreciate the quality. Their holsters fit my guns perfectly. About the only thing working against EPS is they seldom, if at all, deviate from their patterns and decoration. But then again, a lot of custom holster makers (one-man-shop guys) have five or ten patterns, and that's it.
So yes, EPS's work is worth waiting on. I think you'll be pleased. I know the holster you're talking about, and it's a nice one.
Here's a photo of my EPS holster for my old WWII Remington Rand .45 pistol.

Don't be surprised if your order takes a little longer than that. They get real busy when they have sales. The finished product will be worth the wait!
That very well could be. I have a feeling that EPS may have sort of surprised themselves with how much money they made from their Easter 20% off sale back in late April. And their server just might be getting hammered this time.
It does, doesn't it? I've been trying to figure out my budget for the rest of June, seeing just how much I can afford to order before I get paid the first of the month. I'm gonna be cutting it close. But hey, who needs to eat, anyway? I could stand to lose a few pounds.
The website has not worked for the past 24hrs.....What a Sale....
You and I must've been posting at the same time. And of course, EPS can't be contacted because they don't work weekends, and their voice mail is full anyway.
But the sale doesn't end until midnight on the 16th, so when they return to work Monday, they should notice the site is down (if it still is by then).
I'd think/hope that if it stays down, that they'd honor the 20% sale after it comes online again.
As I said before, they may have simply underestimated the customer response to this sale, and their server just couldn't handle the volume.
Or it could be a problem with the whole network of ISPs in the El Paso area...who knows?
Hmm? How are people supposed to take advantage of the sale if they can't order anything? This will not be good for their reputation.
If EPS handles it right, it shouldn't damage their reputation any more than this forum's reputation was "damaged" when it experienced slowness and server problems a few weeks ago.
And it doesn't seem to damage S&W's reputation when it takes a year to get a gun reblued, or when they refuse to work on older revolvers.
When I tried to hop online Sunday and the site was out, I sent an email to see if they would honor the sale after the expiration. Even though they are probably wading through a **** load of emails about the same thing... they still managed to email me back yesterday and say it was back up and running.
Ordered the C Force IWB for a J frame 637, expect this will be as nice as the last two rigs I received!
