New Leather for One of My Model 28s
Received a shipment from El Paso Saddlery yesterday, and this is some of the stuff that was in the box (I love surprises).
The belt is EPS's Garrison Belt with solid brass buckle that I had made with border stamping and in a 1.75-inch width. I wanted that width because it fits snugly in the belt loops of my jeans. The holster is their 1920 Crossdraw model with a hammer thong instead of a retention strap, and it's lined with pig skin. And of course, the 12-round cartridge slide matches everything else...it's all in EPS's russet color.
The surprise came when I looked at the belt. When I ordered border stamping, I thought, well, they'll stamp one edge and then they'll stamp the other edge. But they stamped the belt for almost it's entire width, not just the borders...which gives it an entirely different look than what I'd imagined. I really like it.
This stuff will last me the rest of my life, that's for sure.
That's my old 1964 28-2 with a 4-inch barrel resting in its new holster.
