Here's an interesting piece of leather cowboy gear I found recently. I haven't figured out how it works, but I believe it's a rope-holster made by Hayes Manufacturing of Corpus Christie, Texas in the 1960s. This came to me attached to an older shoulder holster harness but the leather didn't match and I knew it was something odd and out of place. All I've been able to find about Hayes is an ad in the April, 1963 issue of
Guns magazine and a small write-up a few months later in the September issue.

Anyone have any idea how this was used?
