Default Alien Gear Holsters Customer Service

Well after seven and a half weeks, I FINALLY received my INCOMPLETE Alien Gear order. Along with two kydex shells (M&P Shield & Ruger SR1911 CMD, I ordered a set of the leather straps for my 1 3/4 gun belt (I was assured these would be sent all together). You guessed it, NO leather straps. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Every time you call, you get lots of excuses/lies. Now they expect me to wait "at least another week" for the straps. Don't think so, it goes back, tomorrow morning. Don't know how they expect to remain in business. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Don't know anything about homestead, but I've dealt with FoxX Holsters, and am very impressed with price, quality, communication, and shipping times.

Update: I decided to give Alien Gear another week. After ONLY 8 plus weeks, I finally got my complete order. They sent me the leather straps, (additional one week wait) and finally the correct length 1911 CMD kydex. I am pleased with their product, really a nice rig, BUT customer service could really use help. In their defensive, they say they understand they have a CS problem, and are working on it. Hope they do.

I tried the Alien gear. Customer service was....ok. Gear itself did not work at all for me. It was a pain to put on. Glad it worked out for you.

I have only purchased two holsters from Alien Gear, but have not had any problems either time. Only complaint would be a longer wait time than I wanted, but neither took longer than 3 weeks.

I have not had to exchanged anything or add anything, or return anything...so I guess I can't speak to their customer service.

BUT, I will say that for me personally and several of my friends, their product is stellar. I ordered a holster for my Kahr cw45 and fell in love with it. It has more adjustment options and places to control retention than my crossbreed, and was practically half the price. I felt like my crossbreed wasn't quite tight enough on my shield, and after a few weeks wearing it, it got even looser. It was fine, just kinda bugged me. The Alien Gear has two different retention screws that you can keep tightening up as the leather begins to break in and loosen a bit.

I gave the gun and holster to my leo brother and he used it for a week and ordered one for is off duty gun to replace his supertuck too.

Nothing is for everyone, and I hate that the OP had a bad CS experience, but I'm glad to hear that after finally getting your order worked out that you are happy with their product. Especially considering the price, the Alien Gear holsters are a really good value.

I was researching kydex holsters and came across Alien Gear. I opted to choose another maker due to the long wait time and some complaints (founded or unfounded). I went with: MDJ Custom Holsters. I'm very pleased with it and it took four days to get to my house. Just FYI only. You make the call.

I bought an Alien Gear 2.0 neoprene a couple of months ago when they first came out. I received the holster in about 4 weeks (as estimated). It appeared to be very well made, but I just couldn't get it to work for me and my Shield 9mm. It seemed way to flimsy and no matter how I adjusted it, it just wasn't comfortable. I now use a Hidden Hybrid and couldn't be happier. But anyway, Alien Gear has a very good return policy, but I hardly ever return items. So, I decided to keep it. A co-worker of mine is really into guns, so I gave it to him so it would be used. He ordered the kydex for the gun he carries and a of week or so later he started using it as an EDC holster. He said he really liked it. So yesterday (about three weeks after he started using it) he tells me that it literally tore down the middle while he was wearing it! He said something didn't feel right and when he checked, it was nearly in two. This guy is a gun nut and he takes care of his gear, so I really don't think it was anything he did wrong. Anyway, we contacted Alien Gear yesterday (after he told me) and requested a replacement, but with a leather back instead of neoprene. I will post back when I hear something from them. At this point, I wouldn't trust the neoprene backing for nothing! The leather backing seems to be OK.

Ordered two holsters from them this Spring. Received both about 3wks or so after ordering. Being as one was for my 3913, something I've yet to find in another makers Kydex line, I'm happy.

Sorry about your experience OP, I'm usually that guy.

Ordered an OWB for my G19. It took about a month before it landed on my doorstep, but the wait was worth it. No issues or problems. Mine has the leather liner, and I'm very pleased with the quality and comfort. It's easy to fine tune the right amount of retention. I'd recommend the OWB model. Don't know about the IWB model.

They are replacing the neoprene with black leather, no questions asked and they are expediting it. Sounds like good service to me but I'll still be staying clear of the neoprene backing.
