Opinions Sought - Best Leather Color for Concealment ?
OK Guys, Here's a somewhat unusual question; Which color IWB rig would conceal the best, black or brown ? ( both holsters have a black belt clip ) Now that I can choose any color I wish, I'm not sure if either of the colors will "show" more than the other. I tend to think that black might be best as it's darker than brown, but then again, to me, brown doesn't scream "gun holster" like the black color would ?? As always, ANY & ALL opinions will be very much appreciated. THANKS

IWB ....... so little shows ....... except the belt loops/clips ..... I'd go with; match the color of the belt.
That said...... have carried IWB for 24+years I don't think it matters much..... my Sparks holsters are mostly natural (Summer Specials) or brown ......my daily belt is also "buckskin"

In my opinion, a black rig conceals better.
However, I made my holster dark brown because I like the way it looks.

For IWB the clips should be the same color as your belt for best concealment.

I thought this subject/topic looked vaguely familiar.
Check out this thread from back in July.

THANK YOU Guys for all the replies. I thought I was the only nut to think about stuff like this !! Be careful, once you retire you have a great deal more time on your hands. That's when you start to think about things like what color holster conceals the best !! THANKS again,

I personally don't think holster color matters. If it's concealed like it should be, then it makes no difference. I've carried IWB in the past but now prefer OWB.

in most cases (especially when jeans are worn) black works best. I posed a thread about this very subject a few months back.

Most of the stuff I carry OWB or via shoulder rig is dark cordovan brown. I do have a couple holsters in black though. Actually I see little difference one way or the other. NO difference at all with IWB holsters. Here though, I will often defer to lighter leather in the off chance the dye may be less-than-perfect and leak onto clothing. (Yes..it can happen. Even with high quality holsters)

For me, I just don't care, it's all personal preference. Some believe that your holster should match your shoes, belt, socks and thong. If it's properly concealed, why does it matter? However, if in doubt you can't go wrong with black.
