Default Friend of Mine Gave me a Bill Jordan Holster

Looks barely used. I guess its supposed to fit 4" K frame since my 67-1 and Ruger Service Six fit it. Not used to exposed trigger and strap over the hammer, but even with the strap unsnapped the cylinder won't turn. Has a pic of Jordan in the leather on the back and Don Hume Leather goods also. Model number H216 No 1-4". Surprised no holes for screws on the top to secure it from sliding on the duty belt. But I'm glad to have it.

I always thought of that style as the Tom Threepersons. The Jordan style holster had the extended drop shank, to be used with the typical duty belt.

No matter what style it is, a great looking holster and the price was RIGHT.

So what is a Tom Threeperson's holster? Is it a Jordan holster or a knockoff? Here's a pic of the back. Nothing fancy. Just my point and shoot digital camera

Either way, I'm glad to have it. Very Old School.

Well is my face red. I missed the drop shank when I saw the first photo. So it now appears that you have a Jordan style holster.

A threepersons holster was a style developed by Tom Threepersons a rather famous S.W. lawman and gunfighter.
A Google search will give you all the information, and more, that you may want to know.

Cool. Wish I still had my Model 19 to stuff in it in honor of Mr Jordan!

No, that is the Jordan Border Patrol holster, and if it is made by Don Hume, the catalog number will be, if I recall, Chart #1, Catalog number H216. I think I can see Bill Jordan's picture embossed on the back of the belt loop and the Hume maker stamp on the lower portion.

The Threepersons does not have the belt drop and the back of the cylinder rides even with the top of the belt, where the belt loop folds over the belt.

It says Don Hume in the back. With H216 1-4" next to that.

We used belt keepers (leather loops with snaps on them) fore and aft, but really the holster fit so snugly on a Sam Brown belt that it took some effort to move it.

The 1-4" refers to Chart 1, 4 inch barrel. Chart 1 was the Chart number you select if ordering an S&W K frame.

The screws were started by Safariland. The Hume holsters fit so tightly they did not need them, if you used a Hume belt. The Hume Jordan holster has such a tight fit that it is nearly impossible to thread it onto a Jordan River belt as the belt has the extra tongue arrangement to thread through the buckle. Frustratingly tight fit.
