..............last week I had occasion to be at a conference in Virginia and when I had some free time I visited the Museum at the Virginia Military Institute. VMI is a school with a long, and proud history. It also has an excellent museum that is worth a visit.
Saw this jock strap style holster by an unknown maker, Any one recognize who the maker might be?
The holster, which was in a case with other artifacts, including the Colt Bisley, which apparently was used with it, belonged to a Cadet who attended one year of school there before he transferred.His Father, and Grandfather both graduated from VMI.
His initials can be seen on the face of the holster, G. S. P. are intertwined in the tooled leather.
Given the condition of the Bisley, it looks to have had an interesting life. I wish General Patton could tell us about it.
