New Floral Carved 1911 Holster I Made
Here are some pictures of a 1911 Holster I Hand made and carved from Hermann Oak 8-9oz Leather.It is shown with my original 1918 Army issued 1911.

That's pretty work! I like it that it doesn't have a retention strap, too.
And I notice that the welt isn't full length. Do you have a reason for doing it that way?

Without a retention strap a full length welt leaves the Gun too loose.A smaller trigger guard welt makes it easier to re holster the Gun but still gives a nice tight fit.

The full length welt allows you to shorten the width of the holster, as well as add rigidity. If you don't change your pattern to accommodate the welt it will certainly be loose in the holster. Reduce the width by the thickness of the welt and it will get you in the general ball park of a usable holster for mock up. This is one on a similar pattern with full welt.

Your stitch work makes my fingers hurt just looking at it.
