If you type the words lawman leather on an internet search engine you will find a company by that name. Several years ago the owner of that company was a member of this forum, but after an online spat with another member or members he was either banned or left voluntarily - I don't remember.
Right before that happened I purchased 3 of his Dirty Harry holsters, which are modeled after the originals also produced by the same owner but under a different company name. The company claims to have made the holsters used by Clint Eastwood in the movies.
One of the issues that came up at the time was that the customer's credit card was charged when the order is made, but delivery was often delayed three or more months.
Mine were delivered in under 13 weeks. Two for a 6 1/2" 29 (one for my son) and a 4" version for my 4" 29. They are superbly crafted and the box smelled like a crate of new baseball mitts when I opened it. They are not cheap. I think I paid $180.00 each 5 years ago. I don't know the current cost or whether delivery issues have been sorted out.

My understanding is a bit different, so it may just be a matter of the devil being in the details. The original is clearly a Bucheimer and was made well before the films. This was for the Smith M29.
But of course Bucheimer went out of business by the end of the 70s and I believe someone may have laid claim to thereafter 'owning' the rights to the holster but there is/was no active intellectual property tied to that holster.
The later films that featured the Automag had it housed in a Bianchi X15. The best of these is probably the Bianchi X2100, which uses a more flexible spring.

Sorry to differ with you red but the only Dirty Harry film, (Sudden Impact), that had the Automag was with Harry not using a holster for it... Just stuck it in his belt/pants at the end of the film.....

In Sudden Impact Harry carried his M29-3 in a Bianchi X2100. This is shown in the scene where Harry is in the woods target shooting with the Automag. There is a continuity error in this scene as the elastic straps radically change position on Harry's back from scene to scene.

You are correct:
But I had to review this clip from the film to realise it! Thanks for the setting the record straight: Harry is wearing a Bianchi X2100 rather than an X15, and the holster carries his M29 and the Automag simply taken from a case. I expect my 'rememberer' took away only the harness that is/was used in common between the two holsters.

Great picture---thanks---brings back memories----.
I did not fall for it by the way---I new this guy was going to be a pal this time, unlike, bank robber, pimp, etc. in the others.
Safariland made and may still make a good shoulder holster if you like shoulder holsters.
