The local gun shop here has a 1/2price cart set up about 2 times a year.
I found a Laurence Holster # 25 for a MP 5 ( military and police 5 inch barrel) for a whopping $6.00 However on this day all items on the cart were half off ....So I paid $3.00 for this perfect condition holster. I use it for my nickel M-10-7 4 inch. This is less than a year ago. I cant' wait for the next half off cart to arrive!

Up on post 45 I told you about a Lawrence gunbelt that I found
on the Bay. Well, it came today and I thought you might like to
see it? Of course it was dirty and the buckle rusty, but I got out
the Blackrock and gave it a dab. It's like Brylcream. A little dab
will do ya. Then I worked the buckle over with steel wool.
I have a few Lawrence holsters, but they don't seem to go with
this belt for one reason or another. So believe it or not, I bought
another Lawrence holster, but it's not here yet.
Anyway, I slipped the Eubanks Pioneer holster on carrying my
Colt's Agent. Nothing too fancy, but as someone said SIG!
Simple Is Good.
In case you can't read the writing on the belt it says 7, which
is the model number. The George Lawrence Company. Portland, Oregon. 38 XL
PS I am guilty of the amateur re-lacing job on the holster.

Probably my favorite TV show when I was a youngster was "The Untouchables", starring Robert Stack. Black and white, and probably every one of the "Federal Agents" wore a Lawrence shoulder holster. Boy, did I want one of those.
You youngsters won't remember the show. Ran late 50s to maybe 1960.
Here's another shot...how could these guys not be my heros? Of course, I later learned that the screenwriters gave the Untouchables credit for just about every arrest made in the country, no matter what agency made it, but for me as a kid, these guys were "gangbusters"!!!
I think the one used on the show (they must have bought them by the case) was the Number 7:
Anyway, I have mine around here somewhere, and if I can find it, I'll post a photo. Haven't seen one on this thread yet.

Well, I hate to critique my own post, but doing a little more research online, and they might have used a holster from the A. E. Nelson Company, the #58-U ("U" for "Untouchables"?) I'm still researching, all these years I was under the impression that it was the Lawrence holster #7.

Here is a Lawrence 120LBS for a Model 19. The Model 120 "Keith" is more commonly seen made to fit single action sixguns, and was designed by Elmer Keith as most of you probably already know. The LBS codes mean Laced, Basketweave, and Sight protector, there is a piece of leather sewn in the lining above the rear sight and were extra cost options. The stocks on the Model 19 are Herrett's Jordan Troopers. The influence of people like Keith, Bill Jordan and of course Skeeter Skelton is seen often on this forum, that's for sure.

Walter,
I'd hate to think of life with only one gun, but if it had to be, your rig would be in line for a "do all" gun. Not too large, not to small, classic design, ammo readily available, variable power depending on the load, easy to reload, good looking, great set of stocks, and a very handsome holster!!
Fortunately, I don't think most of us are going to have to make such a painful decision......

Wondering whether to by vintage Lawrence or El Paso Saddlery new
Boy, these posts are making my head spin. I have a couple N frame 6 1/2 inchers, one in 44 Special and one in 45 acp, a 1950 Target. The 44 is a 28-2 conversion. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out if I want to buy a Vintage basketweave Lawrence #24 chamois lined or unlined, or just have El Paso Saddlery make me one of their Mexican double loops, or another model.
Choices, choices, choices and I didn't have much hair to start!

Get the Lawrence. They are not making them any more.
You can get the El Paso any time.

Chamois lined or plain?
The other question is chamois lined or plain? I wonder if the chamois lining degrades over time, gets stiff or comes loose. I had a bad experience lately when I bought a beautiful old Safariland for my Detective Special, slipped my belt through the loop, put my gun in, and leaned on the butt a little only to have the holster stitching rip completely apart, leaving me holding the gun and holster in my hand while the loop section was still on my belt. It had dry rotted or something. So I'm wary of putting vintage holsters to everyday use.
Anyone have any problems with the chamois lining?

I don't have many of my George Lawrence holsters left, just two rather plain ones, a well worn 120 and this one I never used. I haven't seen any others here with the original packaging, so in the "Like New in BAG" / "New Old Stock" division I offer....
(My apologies for the poor quality cellphone pictures. I just got a new phone and hoped it would do better.)

In #53 above, I mentioned that I bought a Lawrence holster to go with
my "new" Lawrence gunbelt. Well it came today, so thought I would show
it off.
It's a Lawrence field style holster, on the Lawrence gunbelt, with my
S&W Model 10 4" bull barrel, ammo and Buck knife. Should be a good
rig for tramping around out in the toolies.

It seems like there is always that next one that
we "need". If I wore one every day, that I just had
to have, it would take about six months to wear all
of them.

In going through old posts, I found where you took the time to answer my question, for help identifying a Lawrence holster that I had put back into use by modifying it, after it had been rendered useless by someone, and my buying it out of a scrap bin.
