Help Finding Vintage Holster
I know I'm running the risk of being run off for asking a question pertaining to a Colt wheel gun on a S&W forum, but I'll give it a try anyway.
I posted a similar question on another forum, but didn't get much response.
I am looking for a 50's-60's vintage holster for a Detective Special with a 3" barrel. My gun was built in 1960. I have found several holsters for the more common 2" barrel length, but none so far that will fit a 3" barrel. I am open to any type and manufacturer, plain or fancy. Thanks to the helpful list posted on this board I learned that a Bucheimer #43 would work as well as a (Hank Sloan) HS-5, and a Federal Man #201.
I like the Bucheimer Federal Man #201 model, but have not been able to find one yet. I also really like the looks of a Tom Threepersons style holster.
Your help and expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

E-bay is your best bet. In the 1960 era the Bucheimer "Federal Man" holster was the new kid on the block and very popular

Type in "vintage holster" on eBay. A little over 1200 listings, perhaps yours is there.
Another source: List member Robbt has a bunch of vintage holsters listed in the accessories for sale list of this Forum. I've bought from him and you get exactly what's pictured. Fair prices as well.

Here's a bit more specific hint,on ebay search,....Vintage BUCHEIMER Clark Holster L.A. Cali #32-0.....it's a tan Clark crossdraw,(mis-identified as a Buch.-Clark),like Selleck uses on Bluebloods,but for a 3 inch barrel,very nice.

Threepersons? One of the most common on eBay - I agree, "vintage holster" is the search I use -- is the 457 Heiser. It was made until 1960, that we know of. The 4" K size is the most common, but yours will come up.
Myres' Threepersons are far less common and especially in that size. Both were used by agencies the most famous of which was the FBI. You'll pay lots more foe a Myres than for a Heiser.

El Paso Saddlery will make a Threepersons holster for your gun. It's not vintage, but they make a really nice repro...

Thanks for the tips guys. I checked ebay last night for about 20 minutes. I typed Bucheimer and saw several of the Federal man #200, but no 201's.

I just spotted two Colt branded (Wolfram made) Threepersons style holsters at ginnyscolts on eBay. One black; one brown. I thought of you.

Guys, thank you for all the suggestions!
robbt has four or five holsters that would fit the bill quite nicely. I just haven't decided which one(s) I want to go with yet.
A strapless, floral pattern Threepersons would be the ultimate, but I would probably have to get it custom made. I might be contacting wyattburp about one when I have some extra spending money.

The Dick Special isn't the hard part as they were very common back then, it's the 3" barrel that's gonna be the challenge.
