Default Lobo Gun Leather

Ray Cory dba Lobo Gun Leather made his #5 and added the "dog
ear". We liked it so much that we went back to him for this one,
made for K Frame with 4" barrel. It is shown here with S&W Model 19 Combat Magnum.

Thanks for the kind words, but old Ray retired last November and Lobo Gun Leather is now being run by Mark and Matt Fedders.

The holster style shown is commonly known as the Hank Sloan style. Basically a modification of the Threepersons style with an extension of the outer holster panel forming a shield over the hammer and rear sight. The purpose served is to prevent the revolver hammer and/or rear sight to become snagged in the cover garment or clothing. A second benefit is that the leather shield prevents the sharp edges from tearing out the user's jacket linings. This style was popular with plain-clothes law enforcement officers from the 1960's through mid-1980's.

Not much call for this style in recent years, but I remember having several patterns in file for the occasional order.

So we should feel lucky....the "dog ears" stay available
and I still like them (not necessary only on holsters).

My, oh my, THAT is a really nice version of a true classic holster! Going to have to keep this one in mind for my 4" Model 19. For all of our members who may be looking at buying a good belt holster, my suggestion is to keep LOBO in mind. I have a "Threepersons" 4" K frame model that is one of the nicest holsters I have ever owned.
You'll be "wowed" by the quality.
