Holster question

I was viewing an old documentary of world war 2 on youtube. Dirty secrets of World War 2- Hell in New Britain. At the 15 minute mark there is a photo of a GI wearing a 1911 and it is in a civilian holster that I do not recognize. The other strange thing, it looks like the 1911 has a beavertail extension. If anyone is bored, check it out
