Default HOLSTER DESIGN FEATURES

I came across an article in an old Shooting Times Handgun Quarterly.
Sorry I don't know the year. I keep good articles, but I don't always
keep dates, etc.
This guy said: "Design features to look for in a holster includes
ride height, carry angle, open versus closed muzzle, type of
safety strap, compactness versus bulk, stability, grip clearance,
clearance for pistol controls, sight protection, etc. The list is long
but depends upon what you want in a holster."
It was written by Richard E. D. Nichols. Do you know him?
None other than our own "Red" Nichols.

Phil it would be nice to post a copy if Red would give permission. Sure everyone with any interest in holsters would love to read it.

lawandorder it is a good article, but I have neither the capability to scan it
or the smarts to post it. I would be happy to send you a zerox copy by
snail mail and you can post it if Red permits. If we hear from Red, just
send me a PM with your snail mail address.

I would sure be interested if permission were granted to publish it here. Since I'm a new learner, this looks like an excellent foundation to holster-making knowledge.

You will look long and hard to find anyone with the experience and knowledge that Red Nichols can offer.

Since the article was published the copyright holder controls the rights, although Mr. Nichols might also have some degree of control over use. Either way, Forum rules seriously limit any use of copyrighted materials, which would be the final word on what can be posted here.

Lobo is correct that I am not the copyright holder. On the other hand, I do have copies of all my articles, and my sending someone a copy is legal and is considered "fair use". One could PM me, I don't charge for such things.
