George Lawrence Leather Question
I've got a George Lawrence holster that I'm trying to get some information and, possibly a value on. It is marked 25 and 32BR. What I do know is that the 25 is the model number and the 32BR is the gun fit/ size. From what I can gather, holsters made after 1963 had 3 digit fit codes. This tells me that it is prior to that, but it's basically all I can tell.
Thanks.

I can't find my Lawrence catalog. 32 would be a code for the gun it fits. BR might be options. The B might be for basket weave..is it? The R I don't remember. Maybe a sight block sewn at the front top on the inside for adjustable sights? Pics would help.
Where the heck is my catalog pdf.....

B - Basket Stamp
R - Hammer Thong

Yes, I found my catalog and R shows as Hammer Thong. My catalog has 3 digit fit codes so it's no help. All I can tell you is you might ask the guy at Old West Gun Leather, Historic Gun Leather, Vintage Gun Holsters

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately there is no basket weave or hammer thong. I thought it may have for an autoloader as it is roughly the size for an M1903 until I saw the George Lawrence Challenger Field Side Holster #1C 693 on the website linked above. They look nearly identical with the exception being the "25" in place of the "1-C" and "32-BR" in place of the "693". Now I am a bit more confused than before but it's a good lead.

You see some Lawrence holsters marked with the gun rather than just a number. I have one marked "BH 6 1/2" for a Blackhawk.
Maybe it's for a .32 Browning?

glenwolde is almost certainly right. In the absence of a 3 digit size code or a single or double digit group code the stamp must be interpreted. If it looks like it was made for an auto then .32 Browning is a great guess.
Lawrence holsters always had some kind of identifying information, it's just a matter of figuring out what it means.
