two HH Heiser fancy holsters - fit & worth
First off, I've been watching this section and love some of the fancy old holsters people have posted. These are the first two old ones I have bought.
Since it drives me crazy when people ask the worth of things without posting what they paid, I paid $200 for the two at the last gun show. I thought one may fit a K-frame but such is not the case.
What do you all think these are worth, what era are they from and what do they fit?
THANKS!!!

"OM 7 1/2" on back means Colt Officer's model 7.5" bbl. It has the earlier marking and HHH snap 1920's?
Other one "MT" ? Colt Match Target 22 Auto? It is a later, probably post war holster.
Nice catch!! You did well!

I know nothing about vintage holsters, but I know beauty when I see it. And I see beauty in those two holsters! I particularly like the basketweave model. $200? Even I can say that you got a deal. Congratulations.

That carved floral is a beauty. My Colt Woodsman would look great in it.

Turnerriver and I are both holster experts; and he has the big edge when it comes to Heiser. So either PM him, or wait for his post :-)
It is believed that, for cost reasons, the fancy snap button is pre-Depression/pre-war; and the enameled button after that. Both marks have been in use since circa 1920. I believe the stamped numbers on the auto holster tell turnerriver (John) more about its era; personally I don't recall what he's told me about that.
The split rivets used on the auto holster (look at the backside) I believe are also late, with the company using tubular rivets prior. When the rivet heads are HHH marked, we believe they are pre-Depression also.

Red and S&Wucla have it covered, I can't add anything of value. Both holsters are worth more than you paid for them IMHO.

You are in trouble now! If you are like many on this section of the forum, you are starting down a slippery slope. Vintage holsters seem to multiply.
Both of your new holsters are terrific. I am partial to floral carved ones myself, and I really like the style of your Heiser that fits a Colt Match Target. I know Bobby and John and others have some of this style that will make you drool!

I agree with S&Wucla that the revolver holster was made for the Officer's
Model with 7.5" barrel. Holster is probably pre-WWII. I think either of the
holsters would fetch twice what you paid at auction. You said a K Frame
would not fit. All K frames are not the same. I have a Heiser made for
Colt's Official Police (which has fixed sights). S&W K frame with adjustable
sights (Model 15, 19, etc.) fit the holster fine. The Official
Police and the Officer's model is the same frame except the Officer's
Model had adjustable sights. So the two would not be holster compatible.
If you have a long barrel N frame you might try it, but I doubt it would
fit either. Guess you just have to start looking for an Officer's model.
A beautiful Heiser like that deserves the right gun.
