New Leather from 05CarbonDRZ
Forum member 05CarbonDRZ just made me this holster and I am astounded at the quality and fast turnaround (less than a week). I carry my 617 around the outdoors quite a bit and am also a pretty serious frogger in the summertime. I drag it around the ponds and creeks while in canoes/kayaks and have been toting it in a pancake holster made for an L Frame. I know, I know, playing with fire right? Well I have always admired Alex's work and the Tom Threeperson's style of holster. I PMd Alex and told him what I wanted and boy did he deliver. This won't be my last holster from him.

For what it's worth, damn fine job, excellent craftsmanship by any standard. Well, well executed. He gets this old dogs endorsement. I am extremely pleased to see any new maker (or old, if you are, I don't know you or have ever heard of your work until now) produce excellent quality goods like that. It promotes the craft for the future and provides consumers and admirers of our hobby/collecting/sport, with top notch gear. Very well done, you make me, and countless others, proud to be a holster maker, son!
Cheers;
Lefty

To add to this, I will tell you guys that during the late 1960's, whew a long time ago, I impulsively bought a nearly identical holster for a M&P, while I waited for a Gaylord design model I had crafted. You see, There was a girl, yup a very, very pretty girl. And I was a very dumb starstruck half city/half cowhand/brand new big city cop.....a lotta stuff goin' on in the attic, few rats up there probably. Anyway just got my Uncle's M&P, and we're going to a mucic production studio under the Queensboro or 59th. Street bridge, in Astoria,to jam playing R&R. Well the dude collecting the cash from the band nearly....well you know...when he saw my piece. I suppose I was an early "GANGSTA" HA! HA!
Gotta stop drinking bourbon, sorry Lee, when I'm on the FORUM....NAH! See you guys!
Cheers;

Lovely in all respects. And basketweave done that well, is far harder than it appears to the novice. Well done :-)

Notice the double stitching right below the trigger guard in that high stress area. Really nice holster with classic looks.

I have made holsters for a very long time, professionally, which merely means I sold them for money, and that in fact, is all that it means. You did a real fine job, as good as any experienced hand could do. Personally, I hope I see more of your work, my impression is that "you get it".
God Bless, From Your Amigo;
Lefty

Appreciate it Lefty.I have been making Holsters for a little over a Year now and I am 100% self taught.I also do my own Floral Carving,I would post some pics of my Work but it's against the rules.These comments coming from someone who has been in the Leather Game for this long really make me want to continue to advance my Craft.

First thing to realise, and I'm not meaning to get up your nose, is that it's no longer a craft; but a science. That is, we know how to make it work as a weapons launch platform, and we do it. Craftsmanship is what figures into a craft, vs. peformance.

The definition of Craft is "an activity involving skill in making things by Hand" I think making Holsters by Hand falls into that category,That's just Me though

Call it old school basics but it is seldom experienced in today's market.
As a result of his helpfulness I ordered a couple of holsters and expect to order more in the future. This fellow is the real deal, craftsmanship backed by a great capacity to walk a inexperienced customer through the process of obtaining the correct holster for his/hers need. KUDOS ALEX!
