Odd Berns-Martin Holster
Found a $5 holster at the flea market today, its a Berns-Martin Evaluators LTD. Quantico, VA. It appears to be a 1911 rig for a military pistol belt. I have searched the web but my google-fu is weak. If anyone here knows anything about these I would love to hear about it.

They used to sell guns and leather to Feds, Cops, Military. Probably an up grade for 1911 for a web or Sam Brown belt.

2 Berns-Martins on ebay today. One is $100 the other is $85.
For $5 you did quite well.

Guy, that is a Raider model holster,,sometimes called a Ranger model, reportedly designed and suggested by Flora Van Orden, president of Evaluators, Ltd. I'll follow up with a post later showing an ad and other information-after church and Mother's Day brunch.

OK, here's some more information.
These Polaroids were in with a lot of material I bought on Evaluators Ltd.
Note the note on the back crediting Flora Van Orden with designing this holster.
Here's a cut from an early catalog showing the Range model holster.
Undated but it's a Calhoun City catalog meaning prior to 1962 or 3.
This is an Elberton, Georgia brochure showing the Raider holster. Undated, probably late 1960's.
A single sheet advertisement.
A couple of examples of Elberton made Raider holsters.

Awesome, thank you very much for the great info. That is the first picture I have seen of this holster and the information as to the origins is amazing.
