Default Holster help for 2 1/2 Inch 638

I'm looking for help finding a holster for my Model 638 with a 2 1/2 inch barrel. I would like a belt holster for off duty with either snaps or a paddle. Also I would like one that covers the whole length of the barrel. Thanks for the help!

Look at the Bianchi holster for M19 snub post right below yours. It's for
a K frame and your 638 is J frame but I'm pretty sure you could find one
like it for J frame. Also think your 638 is 2" but that half inch doesn't
make much difference. If you like the style you should be able to find
one like it. rbbt over on accessories for sale might have one. Several
other makers had the same style as the Bianchi.

I have a nice Desantis belt holster that I use with mine, but the belt slides through the slits on the holster. I use a Nate Squared (N2) original holster for IWB. Just some other thoughts for your 638...

Highly likely you will have to custom order something as most "off the shelf" holsters will expose the end of the barrel. For example, Galco Concealable...

try El Paso Saddlery "Street Combat". Great holster! Order it and they will make it for the barrel length you request.

Odinkar that Bianchi I mentioned above may not work because the strap
goes over the hammer and your 638 has concealed hammer. Bianchi's
55L Lightnin has the thumb break strap that goes around the trigger
guard for guns with the shrouded hammer like yours. If you prefer the
strap over the shroud, I learned on another post by Mike Campbell, that
DeSantis 001-S1 has the strap over the shroud. Again, it may not be
important, but I believe the 638 barrel length is 1 & 7/8". Good luck!

I have a Galco holster just like this one, you can wear it on the right or left side.

RGrizzle leather, the Georgia Snap 2! Great rig and Ryan is an artist in leather. Must be a cop, off duty carry, his rigs are worth the bucks! Google R Grizzle leather! I have a Georgia Snap 2 for a Model 66 and love it. And yes Smith made a couple runs of ported 2.5" J frames! Wish I would have bought one!
