Default Holsters

I'm making a list of the holsters I've accumulated over the years of collecting. I find I know almost nothing about them; which are rare, which common, how much any of them are worth, etc. Is there a site devoted to holsters, or a publication showing their value, or is there a holster guru on the forum who would give me some idea what I've got?

As an example of my ignorance: I hav a 638 snubby J frame. At a gun show about six months ago I got a Berns-Martin shoulder holster which apparently carries little revolvers like this upside down. It's in pretty good shape. Paid $5 for it. When I told one of the other vendors about it, he almost swallowed his tonsils, apparently they're worth a lot more than $5. I thought it was a good price, but not a steal. I'm afraid my ignorance is almost boundless and I'd sure appreciate some schooling.

I just posted a query there on a French military holster I have for the Mle 1950 pistol, since I happened to have a picture of it. I know nothing about it; we'll see if anyone else does.

One of the things I've been wondering about is US M 1916 holsters for the 45. I have four of them and wonder if all are common makers. I don't know what the rarities are, and I wonder if this information is posted somewhere.

You'll find lots of advice and knowledge right here. Photos help of course. The last Bern-Martin shoulder holster I sold brought over $100, condition, size & originality all dictate desirability.
Value is variable as with anything else.
