Help ID Vintage Holster
I picked this H.H.Heiser holster up at a local gun show in Milton, FL a few weeks back and I am trying to date it. It is marked on the back "417 over 2" and a 4" K-frame fits perfectly. The strap across the front body is marked "Sheriff's Dept. Palm Beach Co." I feel its a 1930-1940s holster. Anybody got a timeline for this piece of history. What say you, any holster collectors out there ?

Holster
A better photo of the "Sheriff's Dept. ....." There also a bit of art work on the
face of the holster, a palm tree, if you can make it out.

That's a Heiser we wish could talk. Very cool.
Turnerriver or one of the other guys should be able to date it. Might want to show a better pic of the snap.

The new plain or Heiser-Denver brown or black enamel snap first appeared in catalog number 40. My example has a post card with it dated April 1942 advising of a new dealer discount. The black and brass 3 H elaborate snaps were used up until then, I assume they used up the old snaps and went to a less expensive snap.
That's a very interesting holster, thanks for posting it.
Regards,
turnerriver
