Default TR?

I have a left hand holster for a small automatic. The back has the letters TR and the date 96 cut rather than stamped into the leather. Anyone know who this maker is?

Without seeing a picture I couldn't be sure, but Thad Rybka puts his
initials T R on the back of his holsters along with the two number year made. 96 would indicate 1996. If it is a very well made holster it could
be his. He is one of the best.

I think you're right. It's a nice holster; now all I need is a Mustang to go in it.

I'm in the midst of cataloging and photographing all my holsters; it's more work than I thought. When I get it done, I'll post photos, particularly showing the TR on the back.

Here's some pictures of it. I'lll have to start looking for Colt Mustangs, or the SIG equivalent.

Thad has made outstanding holsters for many, many years.

Yeh Cyrano that is definately Thad Rybka's doing. Nobody does it better.
I'm curious. How do you know it was made for a Mustang?

Default Your holster

That looks to be one of Thad's "Rhodesian" models. Great holster, one of the most comfortable and functional ever made IMHO. Those are keepers for sure. Enjoy! Tom

Phil: Back in '96, I ordered it for a Mustang as I had one then. Sold the Mustang and forgot who I ordered it from.

Cyrano you are allowed to forget what you did 20 years ago. I can't
remember what I did yesterday. I'm not familiar with the Rhodesian
name. Can anyone fill in the details. What's different from Thad's
regular holsters? What is history of Rhodesian holster?

I found the answer to my question elswhere. The first holster, of that
style, that Thad made was shipped to Rhodesia. Therefore the name.
