Default Must have been crazy

Someone who must have been crazy at the time drilled a hole in
this beautiful Myres #614 Threepersons and installed a tension
device so a 4" K frame would fit. I removed the tension device
and plugged up the holes. It fits the Model 27 4" N frame just
right. From the front the plug is barely visible. Very obvious
however on the back.
At the left with tension device and Model 10.
2 on the right plugged holes and Model 27.
Now my question for you holster Gurus:
A friend wants to buy it. I know the alteration and correction
have damaged the value. I want to be fair to the friend, but I
also want to be fair to me. What is your estimate of value?
Thank you.

Phil,

I would say that holster would be worth maybe $250 without the mod and probably half or less with the repair. I have only found one really nice Myres N frame for a 4" recently.

I do not see enough of these sell to have a more definitive valuation for you. Perhaps Turnerriver will join in and share his thoughts on the matter.

I would agree with SAFireman on both the value and the desire to hear Turnerriver's opinion.

My first thought was $100 as is so I'm in the ballpark. I agree that good classic holsters for the 4" N frame are few and far between.
Interesting mod that would never occur to me.
Regards,
turnerriver
That's three heavy hitter holster aficionados up there....

I think the consensus is about a hundred bucks. I'll bounce that off my
friend and see what he thinks. Thanks Gurus.

John for a mod like that to occur you would have to be crazy.
P.S. The friend is not a holster guy so he was thinking a lot less.
I suggested he go look at Uncle Mikes.

I don't think the guy who did it was crazy, he had a holster, and wanted to make it work for a gun he had. How was he to know that in the future the collecting thing would be so, well, crazy?

Before we became so relatively well off, people used to make do with what they had all the time.
