Default Maytag Holster Restoration??

I was in the basement changing the laundry and I noticed an Uncle Mike's on the shelf.

As expected, it was covered in lint, cobwebs, and dust.

Well,, I had a partial load of blue jeans,,, so I reached over, grabbed the holster,,,
and tossed it in the Maytag!!

After a few minutes,,, I started to wonder,,,
will the residual "TIDE" detergent be harmful to a gun?

Am I better off just tossing the holster?
It will be interesting to see how it comes out,,,

Should I spray the insides with something like RemOil??

Pics
will come after the cycle of the Maytag is done!!

OK, the jeans are in the dryer,,, the holster is on the deck in full sunlight.

So far,,, the test seems to be a success!!
It is amazing how clean it got with one washing!!
I was afraid I was gonna have to rewash it with the wife's delicate's!!

I will not be using it for a blued gun, probably only a 4" 629.

I will report back,,, if there is a dilemma!!

One loves fine leather. But after rolling on the floor of a double wide trailer of a method heads house arresting him, as song says " in the mud the blood and the beer..." it was good to be able to drop whole gun belt into washer. After removing the hardware of course.

I threw my 1st Uncle Mikes pocket holster in the wash several times and it never hurt the finish on my P3AT that lived in it 24-7. of course it is just a P3AT. Finally wore that holster out and on a new one.

Sweet....you couldda put the pistol back in it and tumbled it in the dryer if you could stand the clanging. Bet that would have shrunk it down to a custom fit.
