Default AMERICAN HANDGUNNER

My Sept-Oct issue of American Handgunner came in the mail
today. I was pleased to see a nice article by the Editor Roy
Huntington about our esteemed forum member Mike "Doc"
Barranti. Well illustrated with photos of some of his work.

Thanks for the heads up, AH is not on my local newstands so I would've missed the article about Mike (I downloaded the digital version instead). Nice coverage for him in a first-class magazine :-)

One of the only gun magazines left that I still look forward to. AH and GUNS are great reads, they've kept with the times and my only critique would be a bit too many ads at times, but I guess if it keeps the cost down go for it.

I worked under Roy for a short bit, many years ago. Great guy and guns really are his passion. I remember that once he and Dave Douglas found out I was a gun guy also, each new day at work entailed "hey look at this.." as some new piece would be displayed. I believe Dave went on to write occasionally articles for them over the years as well.

I quit all of the magazines except American Rifleman (NRA) and
American Handgunner. (Sorry I guess it caused some of them to
throw in the towel.) Roy is a great guy. I have emailed him several
time about various things and he always responds. Yes, Dave has
written every so often. Think He still does.

I take it and enjoy it too......BUT if you took out all the ads.........It would only be about 12 pages.............

Advertising is what pays the freight for printing, paying the writers and staff, mailing, shipping. Subscriptions certainly are part of the puzzle, but advertising is the meat.
My byline is in GUN WORLD, btw.
