Here's the rig: a 1900 Colt Bisley shipped to Mexico City in 1900. Originally, blue. Now, gold washed (almost all gone), ivory grips with ruby eyes, engraved by a tribal craftsman in an EPS Tom Threeperson. Caliber 41 Long Colt.

Default Barbecue Gun

As someone who used to live in the Lone Star State, I'm intimately familiar with the Church/BBQ gun, although most of the gunnies where I live now have no idea what I'm talking about. Anyhow, mine would be this bone stock Victory Model delivered through the DSC to the Fort Worth Police Dept. in September of 1944. The statistically rare civilian (not to mention local) history of this piece trumps its modest appearance in my book. As to a holster, I'd go for either my plain Bianchi pancake in black or my repro US stamped half flap. Matchy matchy.

Honorable mention goes to George S., my first year production Old Model Vaquero with lanyard loop, Taffin trigger job, Cimarron ejector rod, shortened center pin, Scotchbrited Ajax grips and free spin cylinder mod (try this one-you'll love it). Leather would of course be a Patton rig.

"My guesses -> top-Lawrence, bottom-Berns-Martin......how did I fare? "
The top holster is a Heiser " Army style " holster without an identifying snap. They made several types, mostly before WW II. The second rig is a Berns-Martin Buscadero.
I'm glad you posted some of the treasures you displayed at the show in Baton Rouge- you had a fantastic display.

There are some really great rigs being shown. Many thanks to all of the contributors so far. Let's keep it going!

This one? Hunter...yep, "Hunter"

Best looking Hunter Brand holster I've owned. I've had it about 20 years I think.

C&L that's the best looking Hunter I've seen. After 20 years you must
be tired of it. Do you want to send it to me? I don't have a BBQ gun
for my Colt .45 ACP.

I'd probably stick a pair of high-end grips on this M14 Target and carry it in this Lawrence holster. Maybe a pair of KB Ropers or a pair of Culina.

I think this one might be similar to yours...

Not a Myres, but stamped on back: "R. E. "Tex" Wolffarth, Lubbock, Texas"

Mine is unusual in that it has both a hammer protector and a retention
strap. It's #18 in this thread. You liked it. Thank you.

I don't know Tex Wollfarth but it looks like he knew what he
was doing.

Alternative straight hanging holster with matching buckle for this belt posted earlier. Holster pictured before with this belt at bottom here on a full cartridge money belt.

Here is my favorite! Unfortunately, I never can take a good picture of a nickel gun (especially when taken inside the house)........but here are two tries with two different backgrounds:

What history can you give me about Alamo? I have the same model Alamo, but in black (non-carved) with a cream leather lining.
I have used it to carry my 1942 Remington-Rand 1911A1 since 1967. Got it (the holster) used from a SATX police officer.
They are nice Threepersons style holsters.

This little holster was made by Eubanks Pioneer I suspect in the mid to
later 1950s. It is hosting my Colt's Agent with Craig Spegel's extended
boot grips.
Royal Eubanks started Eubanks Leather in Boise around 1937-1939. He
sold to Pioneer Tent & Awning in 1949 with a 5 year agreement not to
compete. They used the name Eubanks Pioneer.
When the covenant not to compete expired in 1954 Royal Eubanks
started Idaho Leather, but He died shortly thereafter. Eubanks widow
sold the business to a family friend Bud Wetzel.
Idaho Leather is still in the location Eubanks started in with much of
the same equipment. It is operated by Bud's Son Ben Wetzel. If you
happen to be in Boise you should visit Idaho Leather. But before you
enter, set your watch back about 60 years.

Nothing fancy here, just a little .32 HE, shipped 1899...

...maybe something you'd wear to the local cantina.

Well, I wouldn't post this 28-2 here for a couple of reasons: not old enough 1970, not good looking enough, and sort of rough. Sure not a Barbeque Gun.

But it came as a package when I picked it up a few weeks ago, and the cartridge belt was made by a company I had never heard of: Idaho Leather Company, Boise Idaho. What a coincidence, I just checked in to see what beauty that Linda had posted, and there was your post about that very company!!

Here it is, just as I got it, including the cartridges, which may have been there for years:

Here's a closeup of the stamping, stamped 38 twice, once for the waist size, and once for the caliber:

Call it the "Anti-Barbecue Gun". I have been cleaning it the gun up a little, though, and rebuilding the innards, and it has its own thread at: http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-rev...th-2016-a.html. It's starting to shape up a little! Have not done anything with the leather, though.

Best Regards, Les

Glock Model 17 in a Uncle Mike Nylon holster (HOWEVER, I haven't been invited back to a Bar-BQ since I wore this outfit to the last one back in 2006 ? perhaps it clashed with my pink purse ?)

Les if you would like to know more about Idaho Leather Company there is
a good newspaper article: LEATHER CRAFTSMAN A DYING BREED
It is on The Missoulian Newspaper website and it is necessary to complete
one of those surveys for access, but it is quite painless. It was written
by Tim Woodward who is an excellent writer, retired now, but was with
The Idaho Statesman when the article was written June 27, 2010.

It came in the break front.
