Another one for you:
Before I retired this was my duty rig for my Glock 21. Another Tim Thurner holster made of Shark and Bull hide.

Duty rig??? That rig would pop on a episode of Miami Vice. Puts my black basket weave Bianchi breakfront to shame.

Dang! I'm surprised it has taken me this long to post on this thread. Must not have been paying attention...either that or early onset senility.
Here's my favorite...a beautiful rig made by our own Dave Keith, complete with our family brand on the holster.

I reckon I could wear this 44 Magnum to any BBQ that I might attend. Today is it's 62nd birthday and I gave it this holster for a present.

Here's my recently arrived custom rig for a pair of Cimarron SAAs...
I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and am currently working on the design for a holster and belt for my N frames.

Been looking for a spare leather mag pouch like that for years. I've been using a Safariland 123 horizontal mag pouch made of some manmade material.

Sometimes ,,, around here ,,,, a BBQ may involve crusty ole men and crusty ole hot dogs.
A crusty ole rig may be in order.
If a more civilized affair perhaps a Colt in a HH Heiser.
Or a Ruger in a SD Myres.
Or El Paso can get a Ruger a ticket into where the good eatin is.

Funny. This thread is so old I might have posted in here two years ago. Ain't lookin' fer it!
These have always been high on the list of my BBQ guns. I might still have the leather rig for them that I wore for cowboy action shooting but it would be in storage.
However, I will admit that I have worn this gun to a ranch BBQ and all afternoon poker game:
The gun is your every day Model 686+ 4" but the holster was custom made for it by Dave Workman.
After the morning feral hog hunting we had a nice barbecue luncheon and then sat down to play poker. I kept the gun on and suddenly one of the players realized it and exclaimed, "Only in Texas!!!", which is obviously not really true but that's where his head was at.

Reddog Leather out of Kentucky. No website, but you can find him on FB, and he has a store on eBay.
Excellent craftsman, and wonderful to deal with.

That rig looks superb A+++++ to me! I look forward to seeing what you have made for your N frame guns. Which N frames and what length barrels are you supplying? Thanks.

Thanks!
Currently, the stable includes a 27-2 3.5", and 29-2 4". Here's the 27, with some Altamont faux ivories:
I need to take some better pics of my 29. A 4" 28 is next on "the list", still looking for the right gun.

That's great!
Who made the matching grip adapter? Is it the same material is the stocks?
The pit is cooking.....got spicy brats and jalapeno poppers warming up

The adapter is from BK grips. That's their 'ivory' color, which turned out to be a good match for the grips, which are Altamont "bonded ivory" with some custom 'aging' using leather dyes.

Just in case you missed it in the thread I did on the guns, I had the William Brown Holster Company in Tombstone, Arizona make a new two gun holster rig for my 4.5” matched RMs. Bill Brown has been creating fine handmade and hand carved leather holsters for nearly 35 years using the same tools and same late 1800’s sewing machines to produce gun leather that his ancestors used. The new rig which I just received is brown in color, carved in an oak leaf and acorn pattern, lined, laced in black, and with a western style engraved 4 piece sterling silver and gold buckle set. To complement the rig I had some .357 Magnum cartridges loaded using lead bullets and nickel plated shells similar to the original 1935 style Winchester cartridges. Below is the finished product.

I saw that in your thread. It is some rig. How much does it weigh?
There is a SD Myres rig floating around here that is very similar (not as many cartridge loops).....and it is equally stunning.
You sir, are a lucky man. I'm not sure what to cook for someone wearing that rig....chateau briand? something more than the de riguer BBQ that is for certain.
(pardon my poor effort at spelling.....I went to Texas schools )

Cooler weather is coming, time to break out the BBQ pit!
Here is my 25-2 Jovino with recently acquired ivory stocks (thanks again Gary!), and a SD Myres floral tooled holster. Now if I could only find a matching moon clip pouch

Thanks for pulling this old thread up again. It is loaded with lots of
beautiful leather holsters, and some of the guns are not too shabby.
I have a few I will post. I don't think I posted them previously on
this thread, and I hope not. Anyhow, here they are Left to Right:
Chic Gaylord's speed holster and gunbelt, S&W Model 29, and the
knife is a Bear.
Seventrees speed holster, Haugen belt, S&W Model 19, and the
Bear again.
Brill holster, James belt, S&W Model 10, and Marbles knife.
Ken Null's RSS (Revolver Super Speed) Haugen belt, and Puma
Prince knife.
Eubanks carved and laced Cheyenne style holster, Texas Gunslinger
belt, and Colt Cavalry 7.5" replica.

I'm sure I've posted somewhere in this thread but I don't think I've posted this one. Model 19 nickel with carved Ivory target stocks and a carved Heiser.

Just a few more of my favorites. BBQ quality? That would be in the eyes
of you beholders. Left to Right:
Myres 614 Threepersons holster on Carson belt with my Model 29.
Berns-Martin on Mexican cartridge belt with my Model 19
Lawrence 34B on David Keith belt with my Model 19
Red Nichols Brill-Persons on his Sidewinder belt with my 1911 Colt Gold Cup.
Heiser 728 on a Texas Gunslinger belt also with my 1911 Colt Gold Cup.

Phil,
That Myers and Carson match pretty well. Is Carson still making belts today?

This here is my BBQ Gun...
But seriously, I don't really attend any fancy BBQs, nor do many folks open carry at social gatherings around here, but if they did and I were to attend one, then I would probably carry my Walther PPK/S.
Yeah, it's small, and more of the sort of gun that one would carry in a shoulder holster beneath a tuxedo jacket than on a belt holster at a BBQ, but it's just about the most fancy gun that I own.

SAFireman - You can buy Carson Western Tooled belts on Amazon. I added the buckle set.

Barranti's 'Sunday scabbard':
barranti.jpg
It's an homage so close to the original, that when I first glanced at the pic I thought it was a Brill by Rabensburg.

Hey Doc - The compliments don't get much better than the one above by
Red, and it is well deserved.

I love what I get to do for a living, and being recognized for it by Red truly means a lot to me. Thanks Red!

Don't really have a lot of "fancy" or BBQ holsters (a situation I'm trying to remedy ) but one that I recently found...unknown maker, but well made, floral carved for Colt Model Ms.
I have to admit though that my wife stole both gun and holster. She's a sneaky gal.

SAFireman, the outfit weighs 11.8 pounds with both guns loaded and with the belt fully loaded with cartridges…. 82 cartridges in the belt + 12 in the RM’s.
