I have long been interested in holsters with the "hammer protector".
I also believe it might have been Wally Wolfram
that originated the concept back in the 1940s.
I wanted to call your attention to the forum: Smith & Wesson
Revolvers Hand Ejectors 1896-1961 where there is a new thread
by 29-1 entitled Combat Masterpiece used to arrest Patty Hearst.
He shows some good photos of a Wolfram "Blazer" that carried
the Combat Masterpiece. The SAC at Quantico who supposedly
designed the hammer protector, that the letter refers to, was
probably Hank Sloan, but we know that the hammer protector
came about long before Hank Sloans famous holster.
I have shown these Wally Wolfram holsters before, but here
they are again. On the left a "Wolf" brand he made when a
law enforcement officer in Albuquerque. On the right a "Blazer"
he made later when he was in Monrovia, California.
