A blast from the past a Pachmayr rubber holster for 4 inch K frame S&W.

I have one plus another for a 1911. They reside in the holster box, but always struck me as a good holster for wear around water with a stainless handgun.

I've never heard of these either. Any history behind it?

There was one of these in the bin at my LGS a couple of months ago.
They also had a Fobus paddle holster for a 4" K/L frame.
Never saw or heard of either before I saw them there.

The revolver version being a best-effort copy of the Bianchi 5BH, I would be interested to see the version for the 1911, if you would post pics.
Imagine the tooling costs, with die sets plus the slides necessary to create the belt loop tunnel. Vs a clicker die for leather, which all up could cost as little as $100 for every size. K frames, L frames, J frames, N frames, 2, 3, 4, 6, 6.5, 8.375, right, left. Staggering tooling costs for a polymer version. Prototyping, drawings costs. Inventory. Geez.

Gee. First I'd have to dig in the box to find it. Google images turn up several.
Also basically a Bianchi thumb snap, but somehow just not right. The revolver version is better.
Also bad for a Cooper-ite - the strap only allows hammer down carry.
Oddly enough, snapped it fits a S&W auto pretty well.

Heck, I've got one, burried somewhere in one of the holster baskets.
Seemed like a great idea, but difficult to snap, and holds onto the gun trying to draw.
And since rubber doesn't take a stretch, no break in or i.improvement with use.

SG-688,
"Oddly enough, snapped it fits a S&W auto pretty well."
Lotta stuff was marketed to fit Commander size and SW 39 size on holster charts.

I have one that is brown. It was NOS with the plastic box disintegrating around it when I got it. The holster looked brand new. I've used it a time or two with my 4" tapered barrel Model 10-5. I've also considered cutting it off for my 2" Model 12-2, but so far I have stayed my hand.
