Cleaning an old mil surp leather sling?
I want to clean an old leather sling of some grime and mildew(it is not valuable or worth spending any money on)
So any common household cleaners I can use? I want to keep some of the "patina" if you can call it that,
Can I just wipe it down with soap and water or some spray stuff like for car seats?
Heck even a mild bleach solution??
Ideas?

Saddle Soap, wipe off dirt with a old tee shirt or terry cloth towel, let it dry, apply Neatsfoot Oil. Total investment around $10.00. Works great on holsters. The other upside is that sitting around cleaning your leather is almost as therapeutic as gun cleaning.

Try a piece of old towel with some club soda, rubbing the leather briskly to remove dirt, grime, and verdigris around hardware mountings. Allow to dry thoroughly, then a moderate application of saddle soap buffed out with a soft cloth.

I use Lexal. A cleaner and the conditioner. Started using it on saddles and then holsters, slings, and belts.
