Holsters for the 8 3/8" N frame are not that common. Here are a couple.
Myres holster with two position belt loop.

Lawrence flap holster with a model 57.

I have one 8 3/8" S&Ws, a 27-2 .357 magnum that I bought unfired in
the blue two piece box at a consignment auction several years ago.
I see it basically as a hunting pistol. I recently bought an excellent
condition Bianchi Cyclone 111 two position holster from another forum
member for it. For hunting-field carry or sitting in a treestand the
cross draw carry is what works for long barreled revolvers. A great
holster for a very modest price.

In my holster drawer I have and old Bianchi X-15 shoulder holster for a 8 3/8 barrel. It is the only shoulder holster I've ever seen that has a loop for your belt to keep it from flopping around when your wearing it.

I have never owned one but one of my mentors in the 60s carried his in a Lawrence Gunslinger rig. The end of the holster was close to the ground.
If I had one I would use a shoulder holster. Larry

Default 8 3/8" holster

One of my favorite holsters to fit an 83/8" S&W N frame is this Vintage George Lawrence Holster #120 535 also shows an eagle symbol. This holster fits the S&W N frame 83/8" perfect.

Glad I could sell it to someone who will get some use out of it, as I no longer had anything to fill it with.

I wasn't really aware that holsters for this barrel size were considered 'rare'. Although, I have never owned any 8 3/8" S&W guns, so have never looked into the holster options for them. I am sure they are less common than holsters for other sizes though.

Default Holster fits S&W 83/8"

This half flap holster, the George Lawrence #CON P!, and the Thompson Center #P1, made by Lawrence fits S&W N frame 83/8" Revolvers perfectly, and scoped S&W K framed 83/8" revolvers also, with a little trimming in the scope mount area, or an adapter or extra snap on the strap. This holster was made to fit the Thompson Contender 10" bbl pistol, but will fit the N S&W revolver, and the scoped K S&W revolver perfectly.

Thanks for the replies Guys and for the pics....lets keep seeing them

My model 29-2 8 3/8" is still a month away and finding holsters here in Australia is by no means an easy feat then to make it worse it is not that easy getting holsters out of the US seems most people won't send to Australia ????

Please keep showing us your holsters......

I guess it depends on how you want to carry and what your doing. While I don't own any 8 3/8 inch N frames any more, I do hunt regularly with 6 inchers and for field carry I highly recommend the tried and true MODEL 111 CYCLONE™ BELT HOLSTER from Bianchi.

I like to hunt with cross draw holsters that have a safety strap securing the hammer and that cover the trigger. All are needed when your crawling round the Mtn. Laurel here in PA out bear hunting!

Cross draw works well for both walking and sitting in tree stands too.

If your looking to carry that hog leg concealed for personal protection, I'm not sure what to recommend as the biggest frame I use for CC is the L.
