Colorado Saddlery Two Gun Carved Belt From Ebay
I bought this today on Ebay. A really good looking Colorado Saddlery belt that I think will fit me. I'll replace the torn up bullet loops, make a new carved tongue to replace that plain one, and make a couple single thickness holsters in either a Brill style with a longer drop, or emulate the Heiser #714. Those are the holsters on Jack Palance's Shane rig. Or combine both. I have dye that color.
What's your opinion of this old (1945) company? Everything I've seen on these forums look great. Oh. That Juarez, Mexico made holster looks metal lined and has potential later. It looks canted, but it hangs straight.

I thought about taking a crack at that belt, I'm glad you got it.
Colorado Saddlery was started by four Heiser employees, I think their holsters were equal to Heisers. They were one of three saddleries that supplied VL&A and Abercrombie & Fitch with high end holsters- the other two were Heiser & Lawrence. You're the right guy to have that belt.

What little of the Colorado Saddlery gunleather I've seen is, for all intents and purposes, the equal of the Heiser line. That said, it appears that the tongue billet has been restitched which might indicate that the length of the belt ain't what it once was...

Blowing the picture up I can see that the edge groove around the belt is still there going around the end under the tongue billet. My thirty year old Ojala rig has a fried billet from going in and out of a buckle so many times. With this even older belt I think the original billet was just replaced and poorly stitched. but if you are right and that end of the belt was shortened, it's not visible when wearing it because it goes under the buckle end. Hopin', anyway.

Not if we keep extolling their virtues. They'll do just like all the other stuff we've hyped on this forum over the years. You know what I'm talkin' about.
