I just sold my milt sparks vm2, it was a great holster but I think it rides too high. ryan grizzle leather is making me a 3in j frame holster now. same style as the vm2 but it rides lower and does not have the reinforced mouth. that makes it a little thinner.i cant wait to get it.

With my 640 Pro 2-1/8" I went with Side Guard Holsters.
I bought the minimalist and it is still stiff enough for one handed holstering. There is a wait but it was well worth it.

While I do not have any of their IWB holsters, I do have two of their OWB ones and they are first class

I like Wild Bill's Concealment's Covert Carry holster for a 3" J-frame.
It's a family owned company and they make them down the road in Garner NC. Their quality is excellent and they stand behind what they make basically forever.
It rides about a 1/4" above the belt and is a tuckable design in case you want to wear a tucked shirt with no cover garment.
The mouth has a polymer strip sewn between double thickness leather so the mouth stays open in the waistband even when the revolver is not in it, which makes re-holstering an easy task.
They indicate a lead time of 8-10 weeks for the 3" model, but I've never had any made to order item take more than 3 weeks.
I've spoken to the owner and he agrees it probably costs them some sales, but he indicates he's discussed this with his wife (the customer complaint department) and she's adamant that she'd rather have it arrive 5-7 weeks earlier than expected than have it arrive a week later than expected. So it says 8 to 10 weeks but 2-3 weeks is the norm.

I own a Don Hume H715M IWB with straps that I bought for mine maybe 15 years ago, and it worked well. (Gunner's Alley, where I bought it, is having a 10% off sale until next Thursday - code is FALL16). I also bought a Bell Charter Oak IWB, which is what I use with it now.
That said, there are some great options on this thread. I have several Side Guard holsters, and Erik always does fine work. Same with Simply Rugged, which is the IWB I use with my 3" SP-101.

+1 on the Lobo. You can't go wrong with them. Just do a search and read all the positive comments.

Sorry just noticed you stated IWB
Depending what 3" model 60 you have. I highly recommend Kramer for older less popular models. They are the only company I could find that still offered a holster for a 3" HB J frame. Sorry no pics with the two together.
My 60-4 rides in an old DeSantis I remolded, before they offered a holster for it.

I decided to order a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder IWB Revolver holster. My reasons were:
1) I wanted a holster that covered the whole gun up to the grip.
2) The holster had to sit with the top of the holster at the top of my belt.
3) The holster had to stay open when the gun was drawn for easy re-holstering.
Looking around, the GI Silent Thunder met all these requirements.
I got it in about 2 weeks and it is very nice. The lined Kydex holster is great. The overall size is:
Height: 6 1/2"
Width: 3 1/8"
Thickness: 1 5/8"
Note that you can adjust the cant.
Also note that the clip fits tightly over my belt. So be sure to specify the right belt width (like 1 1/2") to get the right size clip.
Here are some pixs:

This is gonna sound simplistic, but I've used the Bianchi suede one. Not expensive, and worked okay. Model 6?
I have El Paso holsters for external (not IWB) carry. These are for my M-60-4. For a std. heavy barrel M-60, I used a Bianchi Model 5. But it won't accept the full lug barrel on the M-60-4.
A Bianchi spokeswoman told me to just stretch that Model 5. That did not leave a favorable impression of the company as it's now run. My last two Bianchis are older ones, in near new condition, bought at gun shows.

While I do not wear IWB holsters too much anymore, when I did for many years I much preferred the old soft Suede style with the clip. Yea, they do not lend themselves to easy one handed re-holstering however I was not really concerned with that since if I drew my gun everyone would have seen or heard it anyway.
For IWB carry they are very comfortable, give good retention, last just about forever and are very very thin which I REALLY LIKE! Less is more when it comes to IWB carry - to me.
PS: IWB holsters are the only type I use cross draw - much preferred it to strong side for this type of holster.
