Which barrel length fits best in Medium Bianchi X-15
I carry my government size 1911 in a Bianchi X15 medium size shoulder holster. It is too short to fit my 686 Plus 6" barrel. Can anyone tell me whether a 5" or 4" 686 Plus would fit better in this holster?

Indeed the Bianchi x15 in Medium is for 5" 1911 and 4" revolvers. Great on K frames, OK on L frames incl the Python, fair on the N frames.
Remember that barrel lengths in autos vs revolvers are measured differently (to the rear of the ejector port vs to the face of the cylinder).
The x15 large is for 6-6.5" barrels, great on N frames, OK on L frames incl Python, fair on K frames. The x15 xlarge for 8-8.375" barrels, ditto.
I was Bianchi's chief of design during the X15's heyday.

Well, there is the medium/small size for the 2.5" Python (remember the x15 is a very old school design). Its much wider than the x15 small which is for 2" j and d frames and 380 autos.

The Medium looks to be mid-80s production. A really nice, clean example :-) and something the company can be proud of making for you.
