Strange Model 1911 Holster
Hi:
I have a Model 1911 patent leather holster that a M1911 .45 does not
fit.
It appears to be a "Parade Holster". Negative belt slot just the brass hook for attaching to a GI pistol belt.
Opinions ?
Thanks
Jimmy

A photo would help...
If it is patent leather, it should come with a matching hanger that attaches via those brass hooks and allows it to be used with a Sam Browne belt. Below is a link that shows one of these hangers in saddle leather...

Thanks for the replys.
I do not have a M1905 Colt.
It did not come with a "Hanger".

It is of the 1911 flap holster style, but definitely not military issue (no US, maker or date stamp). Can you post a side view like photo 1 but with the flap open? It is possibly for a smaller semi-auto, or even a revolver.

By trial and error I discovered that a Browning BDA.380 fits.
Big question is what outfit / unit /agency issued BDA .380s ?
IIRC (?) a Beretta M84 is the same size as a Browning BDA .380

Bingo! Have a look at this (closed) auction listing. I have seen brown and black versions of the General Officer's 1903/1908 Colt holster with the retaining strap, but I didn't recall the full flap version. Looks like the hanger is missing as noted above.
COLT MODEL 1908 GENERAL OFFICER’S PISTOL, BELT & HOLSTERS THAT BELONGED TO MAJ. GEN. JONATHAN L. HOLMAN.

Hi:
Thanks for the replies.
I will attempt to trade it for a GI Model 1911 holster.
