From Johnny Ringo to Frank Hamer
Two holsters for the same belt representing two periods. The early 1880s and 1920. Top one a "Johnny Ringo" holster, bottom a holster generically based on an A.W. Brill design. Meant to look like a rig a 1920ish Texas Ranger would wear. Both hang straight. 4 3/4" 1911 vintage Colt .45, once owned by a Nevada lawman.

That's some mighty fine hide bendin' right there and a great illustration of the evolution of gun leather.
Well done.

I think that he was referring to the Colt Single Action Army in 45 Colt.....not a 1911 45 ACP

Those holsters look great, especially the Brill offshoot.
And it's a pleasant surprise to see someone making straight hang holsters

Robert Revert, sheriff of Mercury, Nevada, the NV. nucleur test site town, NV. Assemblyman, and businessman. Owner of the Colt .45 pictured above. He is probably wearing his .38 in this picture but he also owned and shot on duty a "magnum" that he said really kicked. That was in the 50s and I think it was a .357, not .44 he was refering to.

Great thread, Wyatt. Love the history of this stuff. The leather is pretty good, too!
