I'm John & I'm a holster addict. I started young with a Berns-Martin but was soon hitting Myres and Lawrence. After years of fooling myself I graduated to Heiser and it's been a long road ever since. I'm powerless.
Merry Christmas to you Phil and thank you for sharing your experience here.
Regards
turnerriver

And a Merry Christmas to you too Phil!
I gotta admit, sometimes I'll go in the back room where I store my leather and just smell it.

Smell a new holster? You bet. On my list it ranks up there with two stoke racing fumes, toasted baloney sanwiches (with real cheese) and washed down by camp fire coffee and a dash of Mr. Daniels. Oh, yes, almost as good as cheap date on shore leave. Ah...

No one said you have to own a pistol to go with the holster. I just really like holsters. I just happen to have a pistol for each one.
Merry Christmas to all and have a Trumped up (we hope) New Year.
It matters not how you carry it. Just as long as you carry it.

There is a post on the forum, what do you do with a $4000,1911?
Simple, you put it in a $5000 holster!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all I wish you a find on a nice Heiser, or even a period Myres, Herrett's, Berns Martin, or Lawrence. Or, perhaps one from Brill. These days, even certain models from Bucheimer, Brauer Brothers, and others that might not have been considered "Tier 1" back in the day are becoming desirable.
So, happy hunting in 2017!

Some times I imagine getting in a time machine and going back and telling my 19 70's rookie self not to make the mistakes that's in his future.
When I get to the point where I tell him before he retires he will carry a plastic gun in a plastic holster and wear a plastic uniform, I'm not gonna be leave myself.

Hi, my name is Larry and I am a holster addict too. I feel the need to go to a "Holsters Show-Offymous" meeting! At these meetings we would all bring our favorite holsters to show off!! John, of course, would be our supreme leader.

Turnerriver made me do it! The smell of ole (or new) gunleather is right up there with the smell of casteroil coming from a vintage airplane or MG--olfactory euphoria. Merry Christmas to all!

Don't know if I like the smell of leather or Hoppes #9 the best.
But one of them for sure.

Seems like there used to be an after shave called English
Leather? We could always use Hoppes #9.

I buy to many holsters, but my brother has it bad. When we go
to gun shows and Flea Markets, we take my 14 yr old newphew
with orders to kick his dad in the rear if he buys a holster. I get
the same treatment if I buy another bass plug. Several times the
ride home has been uncomfortable.

My wife used to question my "need" for new holsters until I compared my leather collection to her closet full of shoes. Now she understands...mutual respect.

My dad is the one who got me started on the leather thing...we used to have a saddle shop in my hometown, and dad would take me there when he was shopping on weekends for odds and ends. To this day, I don't think I've ever been anywhere that smelled that nice. And when I get any new leather product, I always give it the sniff test to see if it comes up to that standard.
By the way, Phil...the very best of the Holiday Sprit..a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!!
Best Regards, Les

TABAC ORIGINAL - DU BIST DAS ORIGINAL // Home comes to mind...
But it is nearly impossible, to beat the smell of real leather.

Found this one on ebay this morning and since my Christmas shopping was done, I figured I would treat myself.

I have this great idea. We start a "holsters anonymous". Then when
you come across a beautiful Heiser, Myres, Brill, Lawrence, etc. etc. And
at a great price, you call me and let me talk you out of it. Then you tell
me where it's at, the contact, and all the details. How's that?

Groan!!! So this is where it all ends up....35 years ago I would have been helping shut down some honky-tonk at 5 AM. Then I more or less gave up drinking, and started seriously buying guns. Now I see that I'll be on EBay at 5 AM, clicking the Buy-it Now on a vintage Heiser or Myers, .....well, I can think of worse fates!!!
Bruce, I'm just kidding, that is a beautiful holster. I was feeling a little addicted this weekend though, when I bought my second 28 of the year, and there were a lot of others mixed in there too, and some weren't even Smiths...
Best Regards, Les

Les,
And then I needed something to put into it
Seriously, have a Merry Christmas. I really enjoy your input on here. Next time I make it back to NY/PA to see the fam, I'd like to schedule a stop in WV and sit down over a cup of coffee.
Regards,
Bruce

My name is Ray, and I have a problem with holsters. I took an inventory the other day, and discovered I have 14 holsters just for my snubs. There are more guns, and many, many more holsters, but I don't wish to talk about them right now.
Is there anyone out there that can help me? I need help! Someone please help me.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did a little arithmetic the other day and found that I have an
average of between 6 and 7 holsters per gun. That seems,
even to me, a little excessive. I thought I might start thinning
the herd of both guns & holsters next year. But then the next
thing I did was order a couple more holsters. Is there any
hope? Any advice would be appreciated.

I want to be helpful to both of you! If it would make you feel better about your situations you can send me all of your Heiser, Myres, and Lawrence holsters! Hopefully this would considerably lessen your burdens! I'm just a helpful kinda guy who looks out for folks!
