Thad Rybka Holster questions
Looking to order two holsters from Mr. Rybka for my Mountain Gun, one Rough Out for carry, and a carved one for BBQs. Since he does not have a website, or a published phone number, and I can only seem to find older information I decided to ask the brain trust here, as many of you have his holsters.
Q1- What is the most current lead time from order to delivery for his holsters? I am assuming that as popular as they are, he probably has a significant backlog.
Q2- How do I designate colors and or designs for the holsters? Does he provide an order form? I know that I am going to have to snail mail him for all of this.
Q3- Of course, price. The last price I found was from 2011, and even though that was reasonable in my book, that was six years ago. What can I expect to pay for two holsters?

Send him a snail mail letter asking everything you want to know. He will
either call you or write back promptly. Last time I bought from him the
time wasn't bad. Prices are reasonable also for the quality of his work.
If you need his address let me know.

Thanks. Will do. Got his address off of Hamilton Bowen's website. Is the "Canoe Creek Road" address still good?

How long does it typically take him to respond initially?

I wrote to him about 25 years ago regarding a holster, and I am still waiting on a reply.
Bought a Kramer in horsehide instead and was very pleased with it.
I have heard only good things about his holsters.
Good luck with your inquiry.

I have never had to wait 25 years, but now that I think about it I did
have to send a second letter one time, to ask why he had not responded.
Maybe a follow up just to be sure he got your letter.

Got a reply in the mail yesterday with two order forms, each with handwritten special instructions & pricing to order the particular holsters I want. A little pricey, but these are what I want.

I've been watching this thread. Apparently the guy is about 20 minutes north of here.
It might be bad manners but the curiosity has got me, what kind of holsters and how much? If you don't mind me asking.

Here are a couple that Thad has made for me. Left to right.
A little Gaylord style speed scabbard for my Ruger LCR.
2nd from left is the back side of same holster.
3rd from left is Thad's interpretation of the Threepersons holster.
I asked him to add the "dog ear" to keep the hammer spur from
shredding the lining of my jacket. It is shown with my model
19 wearing Herrett's stocks.
It's been a while, but best as I can recall they were each
a little under a hundred bucks shipped.

I've been carrying one of his pocket holsters everyday since 1989. Still in good shape. He is usually at the B'ham show.
